The effect of virtual Horse-riding therapy on trunk control ability, balance and gait ability of stroke patients

Abstract

|
Objective : Investigate the effects of Virtual horse-riding therapy in hemiplegia after stroke.
Method : Three Patients who had hemiplegia after stroke performed Virtual horse-riding therapy. We tested Virtual horse-riding therapy on subject 30 min per course, 5 days a week for 4 weeks. we tested Before the experiments, After 4weeks and 8weeks. we measured trunk control ability, balance and gait ability and got the result of this following.
Results : The results of this study showed that treadmill training with visual feedback, after training, had meaningful difference of COP, Berg balance scale, Trunk Impairment Scale, 10m Walking test.
Conclusion : The result supported the effect of Virtual horse-riding therapy on the improvement of the trunk control ability, balance and Gait ability with stroke patients.
